my practice has become an exploration of emotion and rediscovery through vibrant colour, symbolism, and wonder. I achieve this by using spray paint which is often unpredictable, letting intuition guide where I add in small details, drips and work out the composition. As I have experimented, I found myself creating work inspired by watching my daughter discover the world with awe and curiosity. During pregnancy and postpartum, I experienced severe anxiety and depression alongside this immense joy and excitement. Looking back, I now recognise that the bold contrasting colours using this spray paint, expressive marks, and layered shapes within my work became a visual language for those conflicting and, at times, complex emotions. Through each painting, I have healed a small part of my own journey.

The bees in my paintings are often depicted going out and exploring, finding adventure and seeing the world through a fresh lens of awe and curiosity. In creating these pieces I have explored with different mediums and played with different techniques. I enjoy the unpredictability of the spray-paint and how it informs my next move.

My background as a therapist working primarily with child who had experienced trauma I understand the importance of witnessing emotions without judgement, and I see painting as another way of offering that experience. Every painting is an invitation to pause, to reflect, and to recognise something of ourselves in the work.
